The Real Estate Employers’ Federation (REEF) has appointed its first female president in its 60-year history, marking a significant leadership shift for the organisation representing more than 1,850 real estate employers.
Linda Baker will take the helm as president, as REEF also confirmed its committee now comprises an equal 50/50 split between female and male members.
Baker has previously served as both a committee member and vice president, building a reputation for her contributions in workplace advocacy, reform, and best-practice guidance for employers across the real estate sector.
Her appointment comes as the industry grapples with mounting regulatory complexity and heightened compliance demands.
“REEF plays a critical role in supporting real estate employers through what is an increasingly complex and highly regulated workplace environment,” Baker said.
“I’m proud to step into the role of president and to work alongside the committee and executive team to ensure employers are supported, informed, and protected. Strong workplaces build strong businesses, and that is exactly what REEF exists to support.”
REEF chief executive officer (CEO) Bryan Wilcox said Baker’s appointment reflected the depth of experience within the federation.
“Linda’s appointment reflects the strength, experience and credibility within REEF’s membership. She brings practical, frontline insight, sound judgment and a deep understanding of the challenges real estate employers face,” he said.
“Her leadership will be invaluable as REEF continues to advocate for, advise and protect employers across Australia.”
The federation’s committee of management now has a 50/50 gender balance, and is made up of:
● President - Linda Baker – Ray White Norwood
● Vice President - Michael Cameron – Lauders Real Estate Old Bar
● Treasurer - Tony Abboud – Snowden Parkes
● Committee member - Jacqui Barnes – Laing+Simmons
● Committee member - Tom Isaacs – PRD Bendigo
