First National has announced the appointment of a new managing director for its Kingston office, as the agency seeks to continue its expansion in Tasmania’s lifestyle market.

The office, based in Tasmania’s south-east, will be led by Nikita Phillips, who transitions to business ownership after more than six years as a team member.

Phillips brings experience across client services and property management, which the network said laid her foundation for leadership.

Having developed her skillset within the business and the local community, Phillips said she would look to continue to place emphasis on creating a supportive environment.

“I have seen firsthand the strength of the network and the collaborative culture it fosters,” Phillips said.

“The ability to maintain independence while benefiting from shared expertise and support made the decision a natural one.”

Phillips said the agency would continue to expand its presence in sales and property management, with a focus on staff development.

First National Real Estate CEO David Edwards said the Phillips’ transition into ownership was indicative of the developmental opportunities the network provides.

“Nikita represents the next generation of business owners within our network,” Edwards said.

“Her journey from team member to principal demonstrates the opportunities available within our industry for those with the capability and ambition to lead.”

Phillips will take over from long-time principal Helen Lehane, who will continue to be involved with the agency.

She said the office would focus on client continuity during the transition of ownership.

“Our focus remains simple.”

“We put people first and work collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for our clients and community,” Phillips concluded.
