As the industry prepares for the upcoming AML/CTF reforms, Barry Plant has appointed a new head of operations to guide the network through the compliance changes.
Barry Plant has appointed experienced executive Kyrstie Nolan as the network’s new head of operations, whose initial focus would be on preparing the brand ahead of the upcoming anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CTF) reforms.
Nolan joins Barry Plant from the head of business operations role at Harcourts Australia, bringing more than 14 years of real estate experience to her position.
Nolan said her decision to align with Barry Plant was driven by her previous experience with CEO Lisa Pennell, with whom she worked during their time at Harcourts.
“She saw something in me that no one else had seen, and honestly, if it were not for her, I would not be in a leadership role today,” Nolan said.
“She took me out of the role I was in and created a position that had never existed before.”
Nolan said that while her previous dealings with Pennell had factored into her decision to join the network, her consideration extended beyond just that.
“I had been approached several times over the years by different brands, but I wanted to make sure that if I was going to make a change, it would be with a brand I trusted to support me and with values that genuinely aligned with my own,” she said.
“It (Barry Plant) is a strong brand with exceptional leadership, a close-knit culture and commitment to innovation and operational process.”
Barry Plant CEO Lisa Pennell said that appointing Nolan was an easy decision to strengthen the network’s leadership team.
“Already in the short time Kyrstie has been with the Barry Plant Group, she’s become a valued member of the HQ team, grabbing a hold of our AML project and connecting with our directors and network seamlessly.”
“As I don’t doubt our directors are already starting to see, we are very fortunate to have her on the journey,” Pennell concluded.
