A heated confrontation between two Victorian real estate agents has exploded online after a Ray White agent was accused of stealing a rival’s auction board.
A viral video has emerged over the weekend, allegedly showing Ray White Coburg agent Himraj Rana being pursued and confronted by a rival agent in a roadside dispute over an auction board.
The video appears to show a VICPROP agent pursuing Rana in a vehicle before demanding the sign be returned, claiming the board was fitted with a tracking device.
The online feud continued yesterday (12 April) with VICPROP founder Danny Han posting screenshots of Rana’s alleged response, explaining that he had not stolen the sign but had taken it as it was left “unsecured and dangling” on the curb, and no properties were marketed at that location.
“The board was placed on the street, and there was no property being marketed or offered for sale at that location, nor was there any open home or private inspection taking place at the time,” the screenshot read.
“It was left unsecured and dangling on the curb, so I collected it with the intention of returning it to your office at the end of the day.”
In another message, Rana also allegedly explained that the board was positioned in front of the property where he was conducting an open home.
Han, who posted the video, also requested a formal letter of apology and that appropriate measures will be taken to ensure it will not happen again.
Similarly to Rana, Ray White Victoria commented on the video, stating they were aware of the incident and were investigating.
Contacted by REB, Ray White Coburg director and auctioneer, Nazih Abbouchi, said the group acknowledges an incident involving a member of their team handling a competitor’s signboard.
“This conduct was inappropriate and does not reflect the standards we hold ourselves to,” Abbouchi told REB.
“The matter has been addressed internally, and steps have been taken to ensure it does not occur again.”
“We have also reached out directly to the affected agency to resolve the matter,” Abbouchi concluded.
REB has contacted VICPROP for comments.
