A Sydney real estate agent has pleaded guilty to harassing his female colleagues with chilling emails encouraging one of them to take her own life, as he made arrangements with funeral homes.
Real estate agent Adrian Bruno has pleaded guilty to harassing female colleagues through disturbing and graphic emails.
Last month, Bruno had been charged with 20 offences, including 17 counts of sending menacing, harassing, or offensive messages, one count of sending messages encouraging suicide, one count of using false information for benefit, and one count of damaging property.
Detectives launched an investigation in February into a series of threatening and offensive emails sent to female real estate professionals associated with Ray White.
Although Bruno was never employed by the agency, he had worked with the victims elsewhere.
The court heard that some of the threatening emails urged one woman to take her own life, including the method she should use.
He then forwarded her details to funeral homes, which contacted her to organise services.
On Tuesday at Burwood Court, Bruno pleaded guilty and, as in his first appearance, was seen reading a Bible before entering the courtroom.
In total, he pleaded guilty to one count of publishing false or misleading material to obtain an advantage, and six counts of using a carriage service to menace, harass, or offend.
Bruno’s nine other counts of using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend, and one count of destroying or damaging property valued at under $2,000 were withdrawn.
He is due to return to court for sentencing on 22 June.
