A South Australian agency has partnered with a local women’s crisis housing charity, hosting an auction and leveraging its platform to support community initiatives.

Harris Real Estate has continued its support of Adelaide charity initiatives, partnering with Baptist Care to support its crisis housing program.

The South Australian-based agency has signed on to host an online auction for three bespoke cubby houses, with 100 per cent of the proceeds going directly to the Wright Place charity.

The specialised women-only crisis accommodation charity was founded in 2023 in Adelaide’s CBD and operates in partnership with Baptist Care SA, providing accommodation to women experiencing homelessness as they rebuild their independence and stability.

The three cubby houses were built by the local men’s shed, designed as both backyard features and functional play areas, with delivery and assembly included for the auction winners.

Harris Real Estate founder and managing director Phil Harris said the auction was an opportunity for South Australians to contribute to an important local cause and make a difference.

“We’re in a position where we can bring communities together, and this is a powerful example of how that reach can be used to support those who need it most,” Harris said.

Harris said for those unable to bid, the campaign included a direct donation option, enabling anyone to contribute to the cause.

“We know not everyone can bid,” he said.

“By creating multiple ways to be involved, we’re enabling people to support the incredible work being done by Baptist Care and Wright Place.”

The campaign will run until 2 June, with the real estate agency utilising its social, digital and on-the-ground channels to drive awareness for the program.
