Barry Plant has appointed a new property management director to a southern Victoria office, leveraging her experience to strengthen the office’s ability to grow its rent roll.
Barry Plant has appointed Toni Sleep as director of property management for the network’s South Barwon office, southwest of Melbourne.
As a Geelong local, Sleep brings more than a decade of industry experience, having built up several property management portfolios from scratch across several national networks.
In her first 60 days with Barry Plant South Barwon, Sleep has grown the office’s rent roll from fewer than 100 properties to 190.
Sleep said the rapid growth forced her to trust systems and processes over overthinking, though sustainability, not speed, was always the real goal.
“Getting the processes right so every client receives a great experience was really important to me,” she said.
Sleep said the decision to depart her previous role and align with Barry Plant was driven by the chance to challenge herself to build another rent roll from the ground up.
“It’s always been in the back of my mind. I wanted to grow something from zero and be able to develop my own team,” Sleep said.
“As soon as I walked into the office, I thought ‘This is exactly what I was after.’”
Barry Plant CEO Lisa Pennell said Sleep was a standout acquisition for the network, which would leverage her prior experience and market knowledge.
“Toni is a consummate professional, and her results speak for themselves,” Pennell said.
“Building a rent roll from scratch to 190 properties in such a short period is a testament to her work ethic, strong standing in the community and unwavering client focus.”
