In a bid to leverage its rapid growth and drive further expansion, a software company has called on an NRL executive to lead the brand into its next chapter.

Property software company SearchX has announced the appointment of Ben Ikin as its new CEO as the brand continues its expansion across the industry.

Ikin brings significant experience in the elite sporting arena to the new role, following three years as Queensland Rugby League CEO and two years as head of football at the Brisbane Broncos.

Outside of the sporting code, Ikin also held several senior commercial roles in the property sector.

SearchX said that Ikin would lead the next phase of growth for its expanding group of PropRT businesses, including SignedX, PropRT Conveyancing, and WealthApp.

SearchX co-founder Timothy Neville said the appointment of Ikin reflected the brand’s ambition to scale nationally, and the company would leverage his leadership and high-performance focus.

“Ben brings strategic leadership experience at the highest level, and we believe he is the ideal person to lead the business into its next chapter,” Neville said.

According to co-founder Riley Neaton, the appointment of Ikin represented a significant step forward as the brand expands its services beyond seller disclosure into proptech and professional services.

“He understands Queensland, he understands people, and he understands how to lead organisations through periods of rapid growth and transformation,” Neaton said.

Ikin said there were significant opportunities for both SearchX and the PropRT group, driven by the speed at which the brand has grown in a short time.

“The business has identified real problems within the property industry and created technology-driven solutions that are fast, practical, and scalable.”

“I’m excited to join Riley, Timothy, and the wider team to help accelerate the next phase of growth across SearchX and the broader PropRT business,” Ikin said.
