Harcourts Australia has appointed a new executive to strengthen leadership capabilities and support growth across its national network.
The network has announced the appointment of Domonic Thompson as its newest chief operating officer.
Thompson joins the network with more than two decades of industry experience and will transition from his current role as head of residential real estate at Macquarie Business Banking.
He said the decision to join Harcourts was driven by a connection to the network and a belief in the opportunities ahead for the real estate industry.
“Over many years working alongside Harcourts offices across the country, I’ve seen first-hand the calibre, integrity, and culture that exists throughout the network,” Thompson said.
“What stood out to me was the genuine family-based approach Harcourts has built – something that is increasingly rare and incredibly valuable in today’s environment.”
Similarly, Harcourts Australia CEO Adrian Knowles said Thompson’s values and approach strongly aligned with the network’s.
“Beyond his professional experience, Domonic is someone who genuinely cares about people, relationships and helping others succeed,” Knowles said.
“That alignment with our culture made this a very natural fit.”
Knowles said Thompson’s experience and understanding of the industry would provide a significant boost to the network.
“Domonic brings an incredibly rare combination of strategic insight, operational experience, and genuine passion for the real estate industry,” Knowles said.
“Having worked alongside agencies across the country for many years, he understands the opportunities and challenges facing our industry at a very deep level.”
He said the industry was entering a period of “enormous transformation”, driven by technology, regulation and changing consumer expectations.
“I’ve had the privilege of working closely with agencies of all sizes across Australia, seeing first-hand what works, what doesn’t, and where the opportunities exist to help businesses grow and adapt,” Thompson said.
“A role like this allows me to help raise the bar for the industry through a conduit as respected as Harcourts.”
