McGrath Estate Agents and Knight Frank have joined forces to create the first full-service residential and commercial agency in Newcastle.

The expansion marks the sixth branch to open under the two agencies’ combined branding since the launch of their first offering in June 2025.

The new McGrath Knight Frank Newcastle office will be led by McGrath’s Jaimie Woodcock and Knight Frank’s Ross Cooper, who bring more than four decades of combined experience in the industry.

Woodcock said the collaboration was driven by the opportunity to leverage both brands’ commercial and residential strengths in a single office.

“Our expanded offering in the Newcastle market is a natural progression with so much client cross-over manoeuvring in and around the Newcastle region and working with our team in surrounding offices.”

“The opportunity to collaborate, forge relationships and develop successful client outcomes alongside the Knight Frank team is an exciting progression for our business,” Woodcock said.

Additionally, Cooper said the office would look to leverage the combined knowledge and experience of its leaders.

“Knight Frank has a successful history in the Hunter, and we are looking forward to forming a dual-brand office in Newcastle with McGrath to build on this and provide the full gamut of real estate services across both the commercial and residential sectors,” Cooper said.

He said the collaboration with McGrath was the next natural step in the brand’s partnership, with an expansion in residential real estate always part of the plan.

According to Cooper, by joining forces, the office could provide comprehensive real estate services to the complete range of clients in the Hunter Valley.

Knight Frank partner, head of franchises and investment sales, Mark Lafferty, said the Newcastle property market was the ideal location for the dual-brand office to expand the network’s presence.

“Our focus is on growing this network in underserviced regional areas, where we can create an office offering comprehensive real estate services across both commercial and residential property in areas where that hasn’t previously been available,” Lafferty said.

McGrath head of franchise network, Chris Mourd, said the dual-brand office would provide Newcastle with world-class real estate services, driven by the depth of trust and knowledge of its leadership duo.

“A single location offering the full spectrum of commercial and residential expertise is genuinely unique in regional NSW – and that’s a powerful proposition for our clients,” Mourd said.
