PRD has announced the launch of its newest office, targeting a regional Queensland city with a property market set for long-term growth.

PRD’s new Gympie office will be led by commercial property specialist Simon Linnane, as the network seeks to capitalise on growing regional migration trends seen across Australia’s eastern states.

The network’s expansion into the Gympie region comes as the area experiences strong demand from residential and commercial buyers, driven by infrastructure investment and population growth.

Recent data from PRD found that the median house price had grown by 6 per cent in the past year, while more than $20 billion in new developments were scheduled to commence in 2026, including the $18.4 billion Borumba Pumped Hydro Energy Storage Project.

Linnane said that Gympie’s position as an economic hub with opportunity for long-term growth was a significant factor in the decision to establish PRD’s footprint in the region.

“Gympie is a region on the move. From its rich heritage to its rapidly diversifying economy, the energy here is undeniable,” Linnane said.

“As someone who has grown up here and lived and breathed commercial real estate over the past three years, watching this region grow has been incredibly rewarding.”

He said that bringing PRD to Gympie was about more than “putting a new sign on the door,” but combining the network’s reach with on-the-ground local knowledge.

Linnane said that the office would provide both residential and commercial real estate services to the region.

“By bridging these two spaces under one roof, we’re able to provide an all-encompassing real estate ecosystem backed by corporate-level capability and grassroots knowledge,” he said.

He said that the new office would enable clients in the region to leverage the experience and capabilities of a national brand, without having to travel to Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast.

PRD’s managing director Todd Hadley said the expansion reflected the brand’s commitment to servicing regional markets by leveraging

“The success of our network comes from passionate local business owners who know their markets inside and out.”

“Gympie is a standout example of a region with enormous potential, and Simon’s deep local knowledge, combined with the strength of the PRD brand, creates an exciting opportunity for clients and the broader community.”
