Real and REMAX have announced the completion of the merger, forming Real REMAX Group, while maintaining the independence of its Australian franchise offices.

The transaction between the two brands occurred in the early hours of the morning on 25 August and comes less than four months after the companies announced plans for a deal.

The move comes just a week after security holder approval was given, with the final deal coming in at around $880 million USD.

While the merger between The Real brokerage and REMAX Holdings will prioritise creating an innovative global real estate presence, both companies will retain their distinct identities, with their individual business models supported.

REMAX Australia managing director Joel Davoren said the focus of the business's Australian leadership team remained on supporting business owners, teams, and individuals across the network.

“Here in Australia we have always been very independent and progressive in our approach to the way in which we support our network, and that does not change,” Davoren said.

“REMAX remains REMAX, our independently owned franchises remain the same, and our commitment to identifying systems and services that directly benefit our members will remain the same.”

He said the two brands would come together to meet the changing needs of the real estate professional both domestically and internationally.

“Our brand, identity, franchise network, and entrepreneurial culture remain at the heart of our network,” Davoren said.

“While there is no doubt this is a significant moment for the brand and company, we continue to support our network as we did yesterday and the day before.”

Co-founder and CEO of Real REMAX Group Tamir Poleg said the merger marked the beginning of a new era for both companies.

He said the group was committed to bolstering the ability for agents to serve their communities and clients,

“More than 50 years of brand equity is an incredible asset, and we intend to make it even stronger – not disrupt it,” Poleg said.
