One Agency is entering a new chapter, with ownership of the international real estate network transferring from its founders to four longstanding principals.
One Agency co-founders Paul and Annie Davies have handed ownership and leadership of the network to Mark Stewart, Matthew Crockett, Aaron Blackburn, and Adam Martin, who have been part of the group for years.
Stewart will take on the CEO role, with Crockett, Blackburn, and Martin joining him as the new owners and custodians of the brand.
The four principals have built a successful multi-office business within One Agency since 2017 and will now lead the 120-office network across four countries.
Davies said the transition marks a major milestone after more than five decades in real estate and nearly 20 years building One Agency into an international network.
He said the change of leadership was driven by a desire to put One Agency’s future in the hands of members who had built successful businesses within the network.
“It was important to us that One Agency’s next chapter be led by people who genuinely understand the model and what makes us unique.”
Davies said Stewart, Crockett, Blackburn, and Martin had built their own success within One Agency and understood firsthand the freedom and independence at the heart of its model.
“I have seen this industry change enormously over the years, but one thing I have always believed is that good real estate operators should have the opportunity to build successful and profitable businesses on their own terms.”
Davies said he and Annie would remain involved with One Agency as it continued the vision they had set out to give independent operators greater control over their businesses.
“I am incredibly proud that One Agency’s next chapter will come from within, and I genuinely believe the best days of the network are still ahead.”
Established model to stay in place
Despite the network changing hands, Davies said the new ownership would preserve the model One Agency was built on.
He said the network would continue giving independent businesses the backing of an international brand while retaining control over how they operate and their economics.
“Our flat-fee model is not changing, and the independence our members value is not changing,” he said.
Davies said he and Annie wanted to hand over the reins to a leadership team with the drive to grow One Agency while staying true to the model it was built on.
“What is changing is the level of ambition and investment Mark and his partners will bring to the next phase of One Agency’s growth.
According to new One Agency CEO Mark Stewart, the new co-owners see the acquisition as a responsibility to protect what has been built while continuing to strengthen the network for the future.
“We see ourselves first and foremost as custodians of One Agency,” Stewart said.
Stewart said the four new owners had first joined One Agency as members, building their own business within the network before stepping into leadership of the group.
“We have benefited from this model ourselves for almost a decade, so we understand exactly why independence, autonomy and the economics of the model matter so much to members.
He said the new ownership will continue to build on One Agency’s foundations while investing in technology, tools and member support without compromising the independence and flat-fee model at the heart of the network.
“Our job now is to protect those foundations while investing in the tools, technology, resources and support that can help One Agency businesses become even stronger,” Stewart said
Stewart said the transition reflected the strength of the One Agency model, with the new owners focused on creating more opportunities for independent businesses to grow and collaborate on their own terms.
“One Agency has always been about putting greater control in the hands of real estate professionals. The fact that its future is now being entrusted to members from within the network is a powerful reflection of that philosophy.”
The new owners will connect with members across Australia and overseas in the coming weeks as they begin rolling out their plans for the network.
The ownership change follows a period of growth for One Agency, with 24 offices joining the network in 2025 and a further 13 added so far this year.
