If you’re struggling solo, working as part of a team may be the solution. Gold Coast pair Sam Guo and Julia Kuo reveal how they work together successfully and how they attract clients.

When working as part of a team, it’s important to know who is responsible for what.

“I focus on the negotiations and doing the deals, and Julia will be doing the marketing,” Mr Guo said at AREC 2016.

The pair attend listings presentations together, and they research together too, ensuring they both have a solid understanding of the Gold Coast market.

“We have very good knowledge of the area and the properties. We’re busy but we’re also very consistent as well,” Mr Guo said.

Every weekend, they look out for properties and auctions in newspapers. Ms Kuo also takes the time to drive around and keeps an eye on new developments in the neighbourhood.

“You need to know who’s renovating, who is divorcing and who is dying,” she said about her close watch on the neighbourhood.

Mr Guo and Ms Kuo have become so well known in their area that they no longer need to prospect for new clients.

“We’re very lucky and I think at this stage you could call us attraction agents. We get calls all the time from people wanting us to go and talk to them,” Mr Guo said.

Ms Kuo believes clients are drawn to their honesty and openness, which also helped Mr Guo make the REB Top 100 Agents ranking.
