A Western Australian listings site will sponsor the team for two years.
The Real Estate Institute of Western Australia (REIWA) has announced that its property listings site, reiwa.com, will be an official financial backer of the Dockers women’s side through 2026.
REIWA CEO Cath Hart explained why aligning with the sports team felt like a natural fit for the organisation.
“Just like the Fremantle Dockers women’s team are inspiring and paving the way for future generations to break down barriers, REIWA also empowers and paves the way for people along their property journey – whether it’s buying their first home, investing in a rental property, or even starting a career in real estate,” Hart said.
“We’re both proud WA organisations, committed to serving the community and giving back to our members.”
Officially kicking off this month, the deal will see reiwa.com emblazoned on the sleeves of the players and coaches’ official AFLW team apparel, while Fremantle Dockers midfielder Hayley Miller and defender Emma O’Driscoll will feature in an advertising campaign highlighting the partnership across streaming TV, radio, digital and local news publications.
Fremantle CEO Simon Garlick said that the team was “excited about the potential of this partnership with such a respected and forward-thinking brand, and we are eager to see the positive impact it will have on our women’s team and the broader Fremantle community”.
He agreed that the values between the two organisations made the deal a natural fit.
“Both Fremantle and reiwa.com place our members at the core of everything we do, with this partnership bringing together two organisations deeply rooted in community enrichment,” he said.
The 2024 AFLW season officially kicks off later this month, with Freemantle scheduled to play Essendon FC on 31 August at the latter’s home, Windy Hill.
REIWA has been operating a Western Australia-focused listings portal since 2020, with an eye to ensure “healthy competition” for the listings landscape in Australia’s westernmost state.
