The Australian real estate franchise has nabbed a “trailblazer” to take on the role of group head of property management.

Emma Gordon has been revealed as joining the Barry Plant group, in a role that will see her providing high-level expertise, support and training group-wide to the franchise group, which boasts almost 35,000 properties under management.

Ms Gordon comes to the Victoria-based Barry Plant from Harcourts, where she was the state operations manager for property management for nearly a decade.

According to the network, Ms Gordon “has the experience to help Barry Plant business owners grow this section of their business”.

The fully licensed agent and trainer said: “I want to help business owners develop this important asset and I want Barry Plant clients to receive the finest service from our team of well-trained, knowledgeable and engaging staff.

“Although owning an investment property can be stressful, Barry Plant provides the tools, resources and services that enable their clients to have peace of mind that they are in safe hands, and that’s really exciting.”

In its statement announcing the appointment, Barry Plant has revealed Ms Gordon bought shares in her first business at the age of 26, before going on to open Melbourne’s first property management-only business.

The new group head — who has three decades of industry experience under her belt — believes “if you can get the communication and relationships right, you’ll succeed”.

For group CEO Mike McCarthy, having someone with Ms Gordon’s experience, qualifications and reputation “will help every Barry Plant person in property management develop their skills with a resulting flow-on in client satisfaction”.

Expressing the group’s delight at having someone of Ms Gordon’s calibre align with the team, Mr McCarthy added that the group understands “how important it is to help our business owners develop an asset that is saleable and sets up their future financial security”.
