A Melbourne-based agency is hoping to attract “the best rental candidates” by rewarding them with the chance to win a new car or luxury getaway.

Leap Real Estate in Eynesbury and Essendon Fields has launched a lifestyle rewards program for its renters and rental providers to incentivise good behaviour on both sides of the relationship.

Leap Real Estate co-founder and director Ken Dodds explained: “Whether they’re paying their rent on time, or upholding the condition of the property, they’ll have access to a range of premium perks.”

According to Mr Dodds, the group came up with the idea while observing the shifting circumstances surrounding the tightening market in Melbourne.

“Post-pandemic we’ve seen the return of international investors and renewed interest in metro suburbs since international and domestic borders have reopened. Subsequently, this has led to increased demand and decreased supply. This is great news for rental providers; however, it also makes it harder to find the right renter amongst a sea of candidates,” he said.

The program was their way of “rewarding [renters and clients] with an unforgettable living experience when they do the right thing – which most do anyway”.

Members of the program – which comes at no cost to participants – go in the running to win a brand-new car to the value of a renter’s yearly rent; one all-paid five-star staycation available each month; and up to $1,000 worth of gift voucher giveaways.

Discounts at the Eynesbury Golf Course and other local businesses are also up for grabs.

Mr Dodds said they wanted to make sure that the program also engaged in the surrounding community by offering perks at Eynesbury establishments.

“Along with our parent company, Resimax Group, we want Eynesbury residents to view the suburb as more than just a temporary place to live, but rather somewhere to put down roots,” he said.
