The agency network has welcomed award-winning talent to its stable of auctioneers as it looks to deepen its market imprint across Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Briannan Davis has joined Mcgrath Estate Agents, bringing the agency’s number of auctioneers exclusive to the brand to 53.

McGrath Estate Agents chief auctioneer Scott Kennedy-Green lauded the latest addition to their team, highlighting the significant firepower she brings to the table.

“We are extremely excited to have Briannan join our exclusive auctioneering team. She brings nearly a decade of experience and a reputation that has cast her as one of Sydney’s most sought-after auctioneering professionals,” he remarked.

Ms Davis also joins McGrath West Group’s crew ahead of its Super Saturday auction event on 28 January, when 74 properties will go under the hammer.

For Ms Davis, becoming an auctioneer felt like her natural calling due to her gift of gab along with her interest in all things related to property.

“I’ve always felt comfortable in public speaking roles and this combined well with my knowledge and passion for real estate,” she stated.

After graduating from the University of NSW with a degree in media and communications, she had a head start in the real estate industry and was encouraged to follow her “natural talent” for holding property auctions.

In the male-dominated auctioneering scene, Ms Davis believes that her early exposure to the field gave her the talent and expertise to stand out. “I had voice training at a young age and have continued to expand on my education in the real estate industry,” she said.

As a long-time Northern Beaches resident, Ms Davis secured her first award in her home territory in 2012 after winning the Northern Beaches heat and went on to compete at the State Final.

But while Ms Davis showed her strength in her home court, the network highlighted that she has held auctions all over Sydney.

“In 2017, I competed in the REINSW Seniors’ competition and became the first female to make the final. I was a finalist again in 2020, and from there, I didn’t look back,” she stated.

In 2019, Ms Davis also won the 2019 REB Women in Real Estate Auctioneer of the Year award and has since been selected as a judge for several auctioneer competitions.

Ms Davis cited the rapport between auctioneer and agent and auctioneer and vendor as the crucial factor to a successful outcome.

“It’s really important for an auctioneer and agent to know how each other works and to be comfortable with each other. That rapport helps create a seamless process during the auction procedure,” she stated.

She also underlined the importance of having “up-to-date knowledge for both sellers and buyers”.

“I keep a close eye on the property market monitoring movement and changes in data, statistics and sentiment,” Ms Davis added.

Highlighting that she is a strong supporter of the auction method of selling properties, she shared how the sales strategy “suits almost all residential properties”.

She outlined: “Auctioning is a great way of removing a ceiling on the price and the length of a campaign, with a definitive auction date creating a sense of urgency and a quicker and better result for the vendor.”

She explained the key role of an auctioneer between the agent and the vendor. “Having a third-party opinion on what’s happening in the marketplace and backing up the agent helps in the transaction,” she concluded.
