A real estate brand has credited the strong showing at its recent auction event to the “unique” collaboration within its network.

Fifty-two out of 102 Queensland properties that went under the hammer were sold during the Harcourts Auction Festival, held on 5 February at Howard Smith Wharves in Brisbane City.

Harcourts reported that over 1,000 individuals attended the event, with 217 bidders registering to participate in the auction series.

The event, which Harcourts reported as the largest in-room auction series in the country, featured properties ranging in value from $300,000 to over $4 million and saw bidders compete for properties for almost six hours.

Ahead of the event’s launch, Mitch Peereboom, chief executive of Harcourts Queensland, said the event showcased “the strength and collaboration of our network in Brisbane”.

“Over 100 properties, each promoting each other’s profile, coupled with hundreds of unconditional cash buyers in the room, means sellers will have a unique opportunity that will not be replicated,” he stated.

During the event, Harcourts Australia’s head of auctions, Christian Hamilton, and Mr Peereboom were behind the podium while the Harcourts Queensland team was on-site to provide support.

Mr Peereboom said that a marketing campaign of such scale was only possible thanks to the commitment of their team.

“To showcase such a diverse range of properties across South-East Queensland is a testament to the depth and reach of our group.”

While the event was staged to capitalise on the high buyer demand and low stock level conditions typically seen during January, Mr Peereboom said the Auction Festival also aimed to provide their clientele with a “unique opportunity” to have their properties seen by a wider pool of buyers.

“The environment was electric and the competition in the room resulted in many remarkable results,” he added.

Mr Hamilton labelled the event the result of an “unparalleled partnership”.

“This was a first in the history of Harcourts — 102 properties in one day — but what we’ve been blown away with is the willingness of the businesses to join forces, share resources and collaborate to make this huge day work,” he stated.

According to Mr Peereboom, the event generated “significant momentum” not just for the start of the year but also for their team.

“Events of this scale are our future,” he concluded.
