The agent, who also ranks number six nationally, joins Kay & Burton in a director role.

Matthew Pillios has been revealed as taking on a new appointment with Kay & Burton, following on from a highly successful 2023, in which he was ranked REB’s number one agent in Victoria and number six in the Top 100 Agents national ranking, having sold $370 million worth of real estate across the ranking period.

Kay & Burton managing director, Ross Savas, believes the appointment of Mr Pillios marks “an exciting new chapter” for the brand.

Reflecting that the agency’s success has been underpinned by the quality of its people since its 1938 beginnings, Mr Savas said “the strategic appointment and union with Matthew further amplifies our commitment to setting the highest standard in representing our clientele across Bayside”.

“Matthew is an esteemed professional in the real estate industry, commanding respect within the luxury Bayside market. This infusion of a next-generation leader underscores the remarkable growth we’ve witnessed in the past year and reaffirms our commitment to shaping the new era of real estate,” the managing director continued.

Kay & Burton lauds Mr Pillios’ role as a trusted advisor to a number of high-net-worth individuals, touting his loyal clientele base as including AFL’s Jordan De Goey, Alex Rance, Jack Riewoldt, Anthony Koutoufides, Nathan Jones and Greg Williams.

Other big names he’s worked with include actress Asher Keddie, artist Vincent Fantauzzo, and Simone Callahan.

For the top-ranked agent himself, the new role has reportedly long been an aspiration.

Mr Pillios remarked: “Kay & Burton has a reputation built on results and is an agency I have always admired.”

“I am thrilled to be joining the team to further solidify our position as luxury market leaders.

Continuing, the incoming director said he is “deeply appreciative of this opportunity and excited for this new chapter”.

“The prospects for 2024 are promising, with several significant Bayside listings poised to make a mark.”

Kay & Burton CEO Nathan Jones also shared excitement in the appointment of Mr Pillios, having previously worked together, calling the new director’s appointment “a full-circle moment which we have been eager to announce”.

Reflecting on the past 12 months being “remarkable” for the brand, Mr Jones said 2023 was “characterised by unprecedented achievements, including the evolution of our brand and the relocation to our state-of-the-art Toorak headquarters.”

Recalling “exponential growth” across the period, the chief executive said “the extraordinary year further solidified our position as the pre-eminent luxury real estate agency and as the advisors of choice for the most coveted property in Australia, Matthew’s appointment was natural progression and a proud moment for Kay & Burton”.
