Auction activity across the combined capitals is set for a week-on-week upswing, with nearly every capital city recording a rise in scheduled auctions during the week ending 29 June 2025.

Cotality’s latest Auction Market Preview showed that auction volumes across the country are scheduled to slightly increase from the previous week.

For the week ending 29 June 2025, Cotality data found that 2,094 homes are scheduled for auction across the capital cities, which is up from the 2,004 homes taken to auction during the week ending 22 June 2025, and the 2,030 auctions held this time last year.

Melbourne is set to be the busiest auction market this week, with the 950 properties up for auction registering higher than the 927 homes that went to auction last week, and 886 auctions held one year prior.

Sydney’s auction volume is also expected to increase, with the 813 homes scheduled for auction marking an increase on the 778 auctions held last year, and 766 homes taken to auction this time last year.

Brisbane’s 143 homes up for auction are expected to mark the highest activity across the smaller capital cities, but mark a fall from the 152 homes that went under the hammer last week.

Adelaide’s auction volume is instead set to increase week-on-week, with the 109 homes set for auction increasing from the previous week’s 77 recorded auctions.

Canberra’s 66 scheduled auctions are expected to notch up slightly from the 65 properties that were taken to auction last week.

Perth currently has 11 homes scheduled for auction, which is up from the previous week when five properties were taken to auction.

After three weeks of no auction activity in Tasmania, there are two homes set to go to auction during the week ending 29 June 2025.

Looking ahead, Cotality forecasts that auction activity will fall next week, with around 1,750 homes currently scheduled to go under the hammer in the week ending 29 June 2025.
