Regulator to provide direct insights on the final Tranche 2 AML/CTF rules at the critical compliance conference for legal, accounting, and real estate professionals.
AUSTRAC’s Deputy CEO,Regulation, Katie Miller, has been confirmed as the opening keynote for the AML Edge, 2nd Edition conference, taking place in Sydney on October 21.
The announcement is a significant one for the real estate profession, with Ms. Miller’s session timed to occur just weeks after the final Tranche 2 rules and core guidance are expected to be released.
“AUSTRAC recognises the significant change Tranche 2 reforms will bring for the legal, accounting and real estate sectors”, Miller said. “AUSTRAC encourages businesses in these sectors to build their knowledge of money laundering, what it could look like in their business and the important role businesses will play in reducing harm to the Australian community. I’m looking forward to opening the conference and supporting industry efforts to strengthen Australia’s defences against financial crime through meaningful money laundering controls.”
Her session will offer delegates a direct line of sight into the regulator’s expectations as the 2026 enforcement deadline looms.
