Spots are almost gone for the inaugural Pickleball Invitational at AREC this year, with strong demand pushing the Gold Coast event close to capacity.

Presented by REB, Wingman, and SearchX, the event will take over KDV Sport on Saturday, 23 May from 4pm, bringing together real estate professionals for an afternoon of competition, networking and high-energy rivalry off the conference floor.

Designed as a social tournament exclusively for the industry and its extended network, the event has already attracted strong demand from agents, principals, networks and proptech leaders looking to connect in a more informal setting during the Australasian Real Estate Conference (AREC) 2026.

Participants can register as a team of two or sign up individually and be paired on the day. For those not playing, a limited number of VIP spectator tickets remain available, offering courtside access and networking throughout the event.

The day will culminate in finals matches followed by the Courtside Pickle Social, with food and refreshments provided for all attendees.

Registration is available via Eventbrite: The Pickleball Invitational Presented by Wingman, SearchX, and REB.

Only a few player spots remain, alongside just 20 spectator places, as interest accelerates in the lead-up to AREC26.

“Tom Panos and I were just talking about how popular pickleball’s become, and then all of a sudden we’ve got a competition with circa 200 people coming. So I don’t know. I think it’s a combination of people loving the sport and people wanting to network a bit differently,” Jonny Bell, founder of Wingman Group, said.

“I think it’ll be a really good way for [attendees] to meet new people, build relationships, and then have a lot of fun. Most people, when they go to a real estate event, wake up the next day with a hangover. Everyone’s going to finish this event pumped and feeling good, and being able to do some exercise as well, and some friendly competition as well.”

“It’ll become a statement of the AREC Conference moving forward, and I think this is really showing a new way of connecting and networking, and I think that Tom Panos and I are going to win.”

The event is free to attend but strictly capped in capacity, with organisers urging those heading to AREC to secure their place early.
