A proptech firm is looking to “redefine and revolutionise” the way property owners design, build, renovate and buy real estate with a “game-changing” service.

Touting that the service has “never been offered before”, Big Plans, from co-founders Dario Guerreiro and Tass Cico, offers a unique service that combines 1:1 scaled projected floor plans with virtual reality (VR) technology.

They say the new service allows clients to “easily visualise and experience what their design will look like”.

Using VR technology to view full-sized projected floor plans, clients can also make a more informed decision about their designs with colour, dimension and 3D form.

The use of a wireless headset means clients can immerse themselves in their designs with accuracy which the firm claims are an unprecedented offering in the market.

Operating in a 650-square-metre luxury warehouse, the firm also offers clients the ability to layout furniture, position kitchen appliances, and map out ideal locations for doors and windows in their virtual designs, allowing for a more comprehensive visualisation of their space.

By having a more interactive view of their future space, clients are also able to identify the smallest of adjustments before errors leading to additional costs are made, the firm reported.

It also touts the benefit of “saving time and money” during the build by allowing designers to physically walk through the plans of a home and make changes that may not have been visible by just using the 2D plans.

Mr Guerreiro underlined that Big Plans aims to address layout challenges in the easiest way possible, “with no surprises when building actually starts”.

Mr Cico acknowledged that designing and building a new home “takes a lot of time, money and resources”, and any risk to the aspects of the build must be minimised, arguing that “there is no reason to risk any element of the build.”

With the aim of removing the guesswork and improving the ability for individuals and businesses alike to make informed decisions, he highlighted how “when we project on the floor, customers, builders and architects are floored that they can shuffle the mockup walls and other features to the desired position, even if it is tweaking 100 millimetres from a mock-up wall or moving a toilet. It makes a world of difference.”
