The new PropTech PitchFest is looking to showcase the most promising start-ups within the Aussie proptech space this May.
The initiative, from the PropTech Angel Investor Network, is set to serve as a platform for start-ups to show “their innovative solutions and pitch for a $10,000 equity-free prize”.
With start-ups from across the country invited to participate, the call is out to these players to “demonstrate how their solutions are shaping the future of real estate, property, and construction”.
Supported through a partnership with REACH Australia and New Zealand, the event is to take place on Monday, 27 May, in Queensland’s Broadbeach.
For PropTech Angels founder and facilitator Sam Almaliki, the mission is simple: “To champion innovation in the property technology sector and drive the growth of the proptech marketplace.”
He explained that the inaugural event aims to provide “a platform for start-ups to showcase their transformative solutions”.
For REACH ASEA managing partner Peter Schravemade, the decision to partner with PropTech Angels for the PropTech Pitchfest is just one way they are “supporting and nurturing innovative start-ups that are driving positive change and redefining the way we approach property technology”.
“We look forward to witnessing the groundbreaking ideas and solutions that emerge from this event and to empower the next generation of proptech leaders."
A number of big names in the real estate industry will be in the room on the afternoon, with an “esteemed” panel of judges already named ahead of the event, including PropTech Association of Australia founder and president Kylie Davis, entrepreneur in resident and REACH Australia and New Zealand portfolio manager Tom Ellis, and Real Estate Institute of Queensland CEO Antonia Mercorella.
Early stage proptech founders and entrepreneurs are now being encouraged to apply to pitch their solution ahead of the event.
