Two high-profile commercial figures are joining forces for a new Sydney-based commercial property and asset management business.
Following on from the successful launch of Jeff Moxham’s Moxham Commercial in February this year, he’s revealed he is now teaming up with David Watson to form Moxham Commercial, Property and Asset Management.
Taking on a role as partner and managing director alongside Mr Moxham, Mr Watson joins the business from Savills, where he had been the national general manager of asset management.
Prior to that, he had been at JLL, where he had spent time in Western Australia and NSW, before being promoted to regional director.
Calling the new business an “exciting move”, Mr Moxham said the new business would provide “an institutional skill set paired with an entrepreneurial mindset”.
He also highlighted that the pair would provide “an alternative approach to asset management”.
Suggesting that the management sector in the big end of town is in need of a shake-up — and that their new offering would be “deliberately different from the incumbents”, Mr Moxham conceded that “so much of the asset management industry is big business, and has become purely transactional”.
Citing “huge” staff turnover as a symptom of a bigger problem, Mr Moxham said that “investors in particular are tired of the revolving door of people managing their property and the loss of intellectual property”.
“We’re bringing the love into managing large assets, love what we do, love serving our clients, love going the extra mile and giving the assets and clients the time they deserve,” he stated.
“I really love what we do, helping new agents become exceptional and doing a cartwheel-worthy job for our clients.”
Mr Moxham was previously the principal of Ray White Commercial – Metropolitan Sydney before he kicked off Moxham Commercial in early 2022.
