It’s in response to rising industry demand, according to Knight Frank.
Knight Frank’s Townsville and Mackay offices have kicked off an accommodation and hospitality line with a new appointment.
Leading this new service line will be Glen Cummins, who has been appointed in the role of sales and leasing executive, accommodation and hospitality.
Knight Frank detailed that Cummins has joined the brand after serving two years at specialist agency ResortBrokers, where he worked in the accommodations sector and focused on the sale and management rights of motels and caravan parks.
With over 20 years of sales experience, Cummins also brings an intimate knowledge of the Townsville and Mackay region and community, which he gained through covering a “sales territory north from Townsville to Innisfail and west out to Richmond and Winton”, said Knight Frank.
Discussing the motivations behind the new offering, Cummins stated that the current strength of regional Queensland’s accommodation and hospitality sector has resulted in a greater demand for property services from clients.
“We are seeing many investors from Victoria, where land tax has risen significantly in recent times; for these buyers Queensland makes for a more attractive investment,” said Cummins.
“The accommodation and hospitality sector’s resilience during economic challenges and headwinds further underscores its stability, making it a reliable investment choice.”
Knight Frank’s senior partner for Townsville and Mackay, Craig Stack, relayed that the “new service line will only add to our offering for clients in this sector”.
“Knight Frank has always had an intimate understanding of the accommodation and hospitality sectors in regional Queensland, with our valuation team prominent in the valuations of going concern assets and our property managers interacting daily with major hospitality groups,” said Stack.
Speaking on Cummins’ appointment, Stack highlighted that “Glen has a strong reputation in the market and established relationships, and he has really hit the ground running”.
“His appointment complements an already strong agency team, with which he works closely, assisting vendors and interacting with buyers,” he concluded.
This new offering follows the recent debut of Knight Frank’s new capital markets team, which saw the network bring on three new additions and conduct an internal promotion.
