Cushman & Wakefield has welcomed a leasing veteran who will help to lay the groundwork for broader growth in the South Australian market.

As part of Cushman & Wakefield’s strategic expansion of its South Australian operations, the firm has appointed industry veteran Kristina Barone as its new director of office leasing for the South Australian market.

Barone brings over a decade of experience across commercial and retail leasing, and also holds a bachelor’s degree in business, specialising in property, from the University of South Australia.

Over the course of her career, Barone has used her industry knowledge to manage complex negotiations for major retail portfolios across Australia and New Zealand.

Cushman & Wakefield pointed to Barone’s professional background and stated that her appointment would strengthen the expertise of its South Australian team and enable it to grow its capabilities further across a wider range of asset classes.

Stepping into her new role, Barone said that she would use her leasing experience across the office and retail sectors to drive strategic growth for Cushman & Wakefield’s South Australian team.

“I’m thrilled to join Cushman & Wakefield in a role that blends my passion for office leasing with the opportunity to grow the firm’s presence in retail,” Barone said.

“With deep experience in both sectors, I’m looking forward to contributing to the team’s success and driving strategic growth across the business,” she added.

At the helm of the next phase of Cushman & Wakefield’s strategic growth in South Australia will be Adam Hartley, who was appointed last year as managing director of the firm’s South Australian operations.

Hartley explained that his position would expand beyond his previous role as the leader of Cushman & Wakefield’s office leasing team in South Australia, in order to further grow the firm’s operations.

“While my core focus remains on leasing, I’ve long been involved in supporting our investment sales and capital markets teams,” Hartley said.

“This expanded role allows us to unlock more cross-functional opportunities across asset management, trades, and project services,” he added.

Hartley also highlighted that Barone’s addition to the office leasing team would accelerate Cushman & Wakefield’s growth in the South Australian market.

“The continued growth of our office leasing team strengthens our market position, and bringing Kristina on board adds significant depth, particularly with her experience in both office and retail sectors,” he said.

CEO of Cushman & Wakefield ANZ, Noral Wild, said that Barone’s appointment would further enhance the firm’s reputation in the South Australian market.

“With leaders like Adam and the addition of Kristina, we’re well-positioned to deliver exceptional service today while building for the future,” Wild concluded.
