Capitalising on one of its sales consultants’ local knowledge, Harcourts Heartland has expanded its presence to Donnybrook in Western Australia’s south.

With locations in the nearby Bridgetown and Nannup, Harcourts Heartland owners Oliver and Angela Kietzmann have been eyeing Donnybrook as the site for a potential third office on regular commutes that pass through the town. Sales consultant Kate Bond, who lives there, agreed it was a prime spot for expansion.

The duo also own NAI Harcourts Regional Commercial and have observed how the two businesses feed off each other. Having a presence in the bustling town of Donnybrook made sense for their business as a whole, according to Mr Kietzmann.

“I believe that having access to commercial tenants is a feeder for both business sales and residential business,” he said.

“All these tenancies employ people that own/rent houses, plus the business owner in the tenancy may want to sell, move elsewhere or buy a commercial premises.

“Representing both Harcourts and NAI Harcourts throughout the region is going to pay off in the long run.”

Shane Kempton, chief executive officer of Harcourts Western Australia, said it is exciting seeing Mr and Ms Kietzmann’s plans play out.

“We captured their growth aspirations at our annual business planning session, which we do with all franchise owners. The driving force behind their rapid expansion is their passion for the people in the Heartland of the Southwest Region. They identified a service gap in this market inland from the coast as regards residential, commercial, and business broking services, and have done a great job not only filling it but providing the finest real estate experience in the process.”

But growth hasn’t been the only thing on the agenda this year.

The Kietzmanns recently completed an overhaul of their personnel structure, introduced modern marketing strategies, upgraded their IT, and reorganised and renovated their Bridgetown office.

Ms Kietzmann nodded to the busy year but made the assurance that though they have their sights set on lofty goals, they don’t lose focus on what’s most important.

“We are very ambitious and have aspirations beyond what most people would think is possible. But we are also grounded people that have a good sense of ensuring our family is a strong unit. We work hard with our team members and seek to ensure that they feel valued and respected.”
