Just weeks after partnering with real estate giant Ray White, a leading online portal has formed a strategic partnership with realestate.com.au.

The strategic partnership between realestate.com.au and hipages.com.au announced today will allow both websites to integrate their products.

Realestate.com.au’s parent company REA Group said the partnership will benefit anyone with home improvement needs, whether they are sharing, renting, buying, renovating, investing, selling or building.

“Realestate.com.au and hipages.com.au are both fast-growing, consumer-focused and mobile-first businesses, so it makes perfect sense for us to partner together to help people make informed decisions about their homes,” REA Group chief executive, Tracey Fellows, said in a statement.

“This strategic partnership will not only make it easier for people to be connected with the very best tradespeople for their needs, it will create a less stressful, more efficient experience.”

David Vitek, chief executive officer and co-founder of hipages, said the website has helped more than 1.1 million Australians get projects done around the home.

“Our platform brings people together, helping homeowners find tradies that are ready and available to do the job. People can chat and message, and more recently, we support payments,” he said.

“People love having an easy way to find and work with the best tradie for any job they need done. We’re thrilled to be building our reach by partnering with realestate.com.au, one of Australia’s best-loved and most-used websites.”

Mr Vitek noted that the partnership follows News Corp's taking a 25 per cent stake in hipages in December 2015. News Corp is also the majority stakeholder of REA Group, the parent company of realestate.com.au.

The announcement comes after Ray White revealed on February 18  that it had formed a partnership with hipages in a bid to provide additional services to its clients.

The partnership aims to give new homeowners access to a database of qualified workers in more than 240 categories through the Ray White Concierge service.
