The former chief operating officer of an LJ Hooker franchise has just joined an Australian technology company that recently launched a platform delivering live real estate information to customers.

Online portal followit has announced the appointment of senior sales and marketing executive Lisa Hutchinson as its new industry head of sales and brand.

Tony Moussa, co-founder and managing director of followit, said the company is excited about Ms Hutchinson joining the team.

“She brings incredible seasoned insight, strategic thinking and hybrid expertise across digital and print media within the Australian real estate industry,” Mr Moussa said.

“Lisa's deep industry relationships and leadership of followit's sales and brand marketing strategy execution will be invaluable for us as we continue to grow and progress through our national roll-out plan.

“We see the appointment as the next step in achieving further market penetration within the industry and public segments.”

Mr Moussa is optimistic Ms Hutchinson's ability to build relationships with industry executives and stakeholders will dramatically advance followit’s market position with industry leaders.

Ms Hutchinson said she is delighted to be joining a progressive digital start-up that is heavily focused on live information for consumers.

“To be part of a team that understands the real estate industry and all facets of business, and in particular technology, is incredibly exciting,” she said.

“The concept of followit is very forward-thinking which integrates traditional online and mobile real estate listings with a social media aspect, enabling agents and consumers with live, individualised content.”

Followit was launched in Perth earlier this month, the first official market for the website and app-based product outside of beta testing.

The platform – which has been described as the real estate equivalent of Instagram or Facebook, and already has the backing of the majority of independent and franchise real estate CEOs in Australia – allows users to follow houses, streets, suburbs and agents.

It also allows agents to send push notifications to clients about specific properties.
