Laing+Simmons Parramatta’s campaign to raise money for medical research has seen $3,000 raised in its first month.

As part of its 21st birthday celebrations, the real estate network is donating $300 to Westmead Medical Research Foundation (WMRF) for every property it sells from 1 July to the end of 2016.

Since the advent of the campaign over 50 properties have been listed, with $3,000 raised so far.

Group principal Ray Fayad commented that he expects this amount will increase dramatically as sales are boosted by the Reserve Bank’s recent rate cut, combined with the seasonal spring increase in property market activity.

“Buyer demand for western Sydney property remains strong and our vendors are taking their properties to market with confidence, while also helping us to do our bit for an important cause,” Mr Fayad remarked.

The money raised will go towards critical care and life-saving research for Westmead Hospital.

The real estate group, which was crowned REB’s Innovator of the Year, said it believes in giving back to the community and can think of no better cause to support than the vital work carried out by the Westmead team.

“They make a real difference to people in need of care and their families, and we’re delighted to be able to support their work as our way of acknowledging our 21-year association with the area,” Mr Fayad said.
