A conference hosted by a top real estate network will challenge women to step up and be more ambitious at work.

Stockdale & Leggo is hosting the second Empowered Women in Real Estate conference at Melbourne’s Novotel Glen Waverly in October.

At the event, five successful women from different industries will share their stories to encourage women working in real estate to become bolder with their careers and financial futures.

Stockdale & Leggo chief operating officer Anna Thomas is optimistic women who attend the conference will be motivated to seek leadership positions in a male-dominated real estate industry.

“I am very pleased to see more and more women stepping forward into leadership roles and becoming franchisees or partners within the industry.” Ms Thomas said.

Ms Thomas said she is hopeful half of Stockdale & Leggo’s franchises will be owned by women and women will represent 50 per cent of Australia’s top sales consultants by 2025.

According to the Empowered Women in Real Estate website, 17 out of 70 Stockdale & Leggo franchises are led by women.

“Particularly within our network, we actively encourage women to utilise the talent, brilliance and capability they have at their disposal to think big, to believe in themselves and take a purposeful step towards building something of meaning and ultimately taking charge of their own future,” Ms Thomas said.

The speakers at the conference include Nova Entertainment CEO Louise Higgins, Zest Possibilities founder and Edible Blooms co-founder Kelly Baker-Jamieson.

They will be discussing leadership, female empowerment and succeeding as a woman in a male-dominated industry.

The conference will also feature a charity auction with all proceeds going to Blue Ribbon Victoria, a partner of Stockdale & Leggo.
