New research has revealed that 50% of real estate agents will consider the reputation and public image of a corporate group before deciding whether to join it.

Provisional results from REB's Real Estate Group of Choice survey show that agents and principals consider a group's reputation a significant influence on their decision to join.

Head of client services and sales research at Momentum Intelligence, Andrew Scott, said in this time of disruption for the industry it has become clear that successful agents understand a firm’s reputation and standing within the community to be a “significant” indicator of their own potential success with that group.

“Agents clearly recognise that this is still an industry where success is built on relationships and interaction in the communities they represent,” he added.

“In this regard a firm or group’s reputation can act as a significant factor in whether that group will attract the very best agents and principals,” Mr Scott said.

The Real Estate Group of Choice annual survey is the pre-eminent research for Australia’s real estate industry, gauging the sentiments and attitudes of real estate professionals about the level of support they want and need from their parent groups.

It is still open and agents who take part stand a chance to win a case of Bollinger champagne.
