In a strategic move, McGrath Estate Agents has appointed a highly experienced industry professional to the position of general manager of strategic partnerships, a newly created role.

Founder of Sydney CBD-based Wilson Property Agents, Adrian Wilson, has significant experience in sales management, strategic business planning and marketing strategy.

Wilson Property Agents received several high-profile industry accolades, including REINSW Agency of the Year in 2009 and 2014, and was listed in the BRW Fast 100 list of fastest growing Australian companies for two consecutive years.

Mr Wilson holds an executive MBA from the University of Technology Sydney.

McGrath founder and executive director John McGrath said the appointment of Mr Wilson to the new position was an important strategic move for the company.

“Adrian brings with him a wealth of experience in all facets of the real estate industry and will provide unique insight and expertise in building strategic partnerships. Adrian shares our vision for the company and will be a strong asset in our future growth.”

Mr Wilson’s appointment marks a return to the company. He worked in Sydney’s eastern suburbs office 14 years ago.

Head of sales for McGrath’s company owned sales operation Kon Stathopoulos noted that three key appointments in the past 12 months have been former McGrath team members.

“Christopher Mourd, Adam Sparkes and Adrian Wilson have each built successful careers outside of McGrath but have chosen to return, which I believe reflects our strong culture, leadership and vision.”

In his new role, Mr Wilson, who will work alongside Mr Stathopoulos, will act as a conduit between sales agents and institutional owners of property.

He will focus on building and maintaining these relationships to help drive opportunity for the business and provide an extra level of service to clients.

He will also be responsible for developing and implementing strategy for the company’s Sydney CBD business.

Mr Wilson said that while the CBD has traditionally been seen as a commercial property market, it is now regarded as a lifestyle destination comparable to New York, London and Hong Kong.

“Over the past 10 years, Sydney’s CBD has undergone an important transformation,” he said.

“There are now many significant projects in planning or development with the revitalisation of the Hyde Park and Darling Harbour, as well as Barangaroo and Circular Quay, precincts.”
