Victoria-based Barry Plant’s property management arm recorded an 11 per cent on-year increase in income generated in 2012.

The annual Barry Plant Think Tank property management survey shows that the company generated a total annual income of $30 million between its 80 offices in the 12 month period between 2011/2012 and 2012/2013. This number represents an increase of $3 million on the previous year’s result.

“We believe we are Victoria’s number one property management agency,” Kerry Fraser, property management consultant to the Barry Plant Group, told Residential Property Manager.

“We have the attitude to be number one but train like we are number two and that is why we keep a close eye on our statistics,” she said. "Every year we show them at our annual Think Tank conference how we are tracking as a company.”

Barry Plant also experienced growth in average weekly rent prices. According to the data, the average rent per week is $340, up $12 from last year.

The number of properties under management also grew by five per cent on-year to 26,600.

Mr Fraser believed Barry Plant’s property management division’s success and growth is as a result of the professional level of service and training that has been established throughout the group over the past five years.
