Buoyant recruitment market offering rich pickings

Renewed vigour in property development has seen plenty of movement in the property management recruitment sector recently, according to industry experts.

Sharon Bennie, director at Sharon Bennie recruitment, told Residential Property Manager the recruitment market remains buoyant with plenty of activity across strata and property management.

“Agencies are absolutely taking on more staff,” said Ms Bennie. “There’s been plenty of movement in the market over the last 18 months with a good cross-section of roles available. The renewed vigour in development has really helped fuel recruitment in the property market sector.”

Darren Gorrel, NSW manager at Gough Recruitment, agrees with Ms Bennie, stating that the outlook remains positive in the recruitment market. However, he added the genuine talent out there is playing it safe and staying where they are.

“The market is buoyant, not just in sales but also in property management,” said Mr Gorrel.

“There’s a real lack of experienced people in the market right now willing to make a move,” he added.

“The experienced agents are the ones that every agency wants, but they’re not going to move while the market is still quite hot, where they’re earning good dollars."
