An agency from a regional community has enjoyed strong revenue growth as more people opt to live outside the state capital and commute.

Ipswich's First National Real Estate Brassall, 40 kilometres from Brisbane, won the network’s Property Management Team of the Year award for the highest percentage increase in property management gross revenue.

Owner Sharon Anderson was also named Property Manager of the Year after she achieved the highest percentage increase of property management gross revenue across the network.

“It’s been a great year, Ipswich is booming and there are plenty of investors around so the town’s actually growing,” Ms Anderson told Residential Property Manager.

“The western corridor is coming through from Brisbane because the affordability here is better and we have the space to accommodate the people who don’t want to live in Brisbane city.”

This growth in the Ipswich region allowed the agency to trump other First National property managers and teams from other high-growth areas.

First National Real Estate Brassall’s team of five property management staff now has a rent roll of 420.

“Queensland, or at the least the southeast corner from where we are, has that corridor from Brisbane and that is basically the major game-changer for us here in Ipswich,” Ms Anderson said.
