Properties don’t come much stranger than this multi-format apartment that occupies only 32 square metres.

Moving walls and fold-out features have transformed a once-cramped Hong Kong apartment into a spacious bachelor pad (see below).

Amazingly, the micro apartment not only has a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and lounge room, but also features many luxuries.

A guest bed, bath, drinks bar and hammock have all been hidden in places that no one would be able to find, apart from the tenant and renovator himself.

Gary Chang grew up in the apartment with his parents, three sisters and a tenant, then bought it from his parents so he could begin the renovations.

Mr Chang has spent much of his life redesigning the apartment, and 30 years on he’s finally settled on a design that offers 24 different layouts as the walls are moved to reveal different areas.
