One of Australia’s leading rental websites is aiming to further increase traffic after achieving record visitor numbers.

Rent.com.au reached a record 252,000 unique visitors to the website in June 2015, a 24 per cent increase on June 2014.

The portal received 2.2 million unique visitors during 2014/2015, which it claims is 30 per cent of all Australian renters.

Managing director Mark Woschnak said the portal has more than 58,000 active rental property listings through more than 6,100 property managers and 8,800 self-managing landlords.

“This continued growth in traffic lays an excellent foundation for next phase of growth via the launch of our national marketing campaign,” Mr Woschnak said.

Rent.com.au, which listed on the ASX in June, is expanding its sales and marketing team as it tries to increase tenant traffic to 500,000 unique visitors per month. The portal also wants to do more business with property managers.

Meanwhile, Rent.com.au has signed a digital marketing agreement with Accordant to improve engagement and increase conversion of visitors.

Mr Woschnak said the digital agency works with some of the country’s best-known brands to help them extract the greatest possible return on digital marketing.

“Historically we’ve been able to achieve very good search engine marketing results, however this agreement will take us to another level of expertise and optimisation.”
