A Californian creative artist has decorated her parents’ house, turning it into a Christmas candy cottage fit for Hansel and Gretel.

Christine McConnell is renowned for decorating her parents’ Dutch farmhouse to suit the seasons, previously transforming the property into a demonic house for Halloween.

In the spirit of Christmas, Ms McConnell has opted for striped candy canes, gingerbread men, and has even got her nieces to pose as Hansel and Gretel from the famed Brothers Grimm fairy tale (see below).

According to the Mirror, Ms McConnell has wowed her 225,000 Instagram followers by posting photos of her Christmas-themed project online and plans to release a cookbook of ‘twisted baking’ in March 2016.
