Last week the architectural world lost one of its most iconic figures, so RPM has compiled some of her most spectacular works.

Zaha Hadid was the first woman and first Muslim to be awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize, receiving the coveted accolade in 2004.

Her designs have been recognised for their highly expressive and sweeping fluid forms, particularly the Heydar Aliyev Centre in Azerbaijan.

The Iraqi-born British architect died of a heart attack on 31 March in Miami hospital, where she was being treated for bronchitis.
