An award-winning rapper is turning trash into treasure by selling bricks from his now-demolished childhood home.

To celebrate the 16th anniversary of his critically acclaimed sophomore album, The Marshall Mathers LP, Eminem is selling pieces of his old home for $US313, packaged with a cassette reissue of the album, according to Complex.

Bricks from the building, which was located at 19946 Dresden Way in Detroit, were salvaged by Eminem’s team after the house had been damaged by fire in 2013 and demolished for safety reasons.

There are only 700 bricks available and each one comes in a special case with a commemorative plaque.

Some of the proceeds from the sale will go to the Marshall Mathers Foundation, which provides charitable support to at-risk youth in the Michigan area.
