Harcourts real estate group has experienced unexpected growth in both Victoria and NSW, as it continues with its ambitious Australian expansion strategy.

After opening 11 offices in 2016-17, Harcourts Victoria has confirmed it now has over 88 franchises across metro and regional areas.

This positions it as the number two franchise group in Victoria, according CEO Sadhana Smiles.

Ms Smiles said Victoria has seen an “unprecedented” property boom in recent years, placing Melbourne among the highest growth cities in the world.

“As a major player in the industry from residential to commercial, the business has been a part of this growth and is shaping the property industry in our city”, she said.

She also said Harcourts Victoria will focus its growth ambitions the western suburbs in Melbourne, the inner city and the state’s major rural areas in the second half of this year.

Harcourts NSW has opened 14 new offices in the last 12 months, including in regional Ballina and Byron Bay.

CEO Mark Morrison said the network is one of the fastest growing groups in the state thanks to its award-winning technology and training.

He said it is recognised by Apple as having the best real estate apps “across the globe” and it has also won the Training and Education Program of the Year category at the 2016 REB Awards.

“People associate the Harcourts name with a respected and experienced real estate business, and the technology and training we offer positions our brand as progressive and dynamic,” he said.

Mr Morrison said the business has earmarked ACT, the Central Coast and Sydney metro as growth nodes in the year ahead. This includes a significant office conversion, which will see the network break into the prestigious Sydney eastern suburbs.
