The Real Estate Institute of New South Wales will integrate with DocuSign, a global leader in eSignature and Digital Transaction Management, allowing agents in the state to digitise customer engagements for faster turnaround and increased security and compliance.

The integration will take place on REINSW’s cloud software platform, REI Forms Live.

REINSW CEO Tim McKibbin said that the move is only the beginning.

“Real Estate has been on the verge of digital transformation for some time. Replacing paperwork with digital documents is a fast way to digitise the entire industry and reinvent the customer experience,” Mr McKibbin said.

“Today’s real estate agents are faced with a rising demand from new generations of 'digital natives' who want business to be done with ease, speed and security.”

The initial stages of REINSW’s relationship with DocuSign will see the institute use DocuSign technology to streamline its membership processes, with around 5,000 agents signing up as members digitally.

Within 12 months, Mr McKibbin anticipates that more than 70 per cent of REINSW’s members will be conducting business through DocuSign.

DocuSign vice president Brad Newton said that the move is significant for the development of the industry in New South Wales.

“Prior to DocuSign, agents were able to easily access the forms they needed through the REI Forms Live platform, but there was still a high level of paper-based processes involved with printing, scanning, faxing and posting involved," said Mr Newton.

"By giving access to cutting-edge digital technology, REINSW ensures independent agents remain successful in an increasingly competitive market.”

DocuSign is also used by a number of other REI state bodies across Australia.
