New mobile platform to drastically simplify the tenancy process

A new mobile platform will facilitate the signing of tenancy agreements, condensing processing time into minutes by cutting out any need to print, scan, post or drop them off in person. 

The platform is called FLK IT OVER. It allows agents to send tenants a link to their lease via SMS and takes them through the lease details and conditions. They then sign with their finger on screen to complete the process.

Founder of Bright Residential Andrew Colagiuri developed the technology to simplify and speed up the process. 

“Up until now, real estate agents have had no choice but to ask tenants to sign a piece of paper — either in the office or via the post or email — which is time-consuming and often inconvenient,” the founder said. 

“This outdated process from approval to signing a lease takes around a week and can be particularly complicated for properties where there’s more than one tenant, or the prospective tenant is relocating inter-state or overseas.”

FLK IT OVER takes as little as seven minutes for a residential tenancy agreement to be signed. Giving consent to a real estate agent to sell or manage your home can also be completed on the platform. 

“This is not about disruption to the real estate industry — this is simply innovation, using technology to improve the way we do business,” Mr Colagiuri said.

Matthew Hayson from Cobden & Hayson manages over 3,000 properties and has embraced the new technology.

“The future is quite literally here, saving us time, money and critically improving our client relationships,” Mr Hayson said.

The FLK IT OVER technology appeals to tenant Andros Walsh, having recently been through a move from Sydney to Melbourne.

“We found a place we wanted to rent in Parkville and were approved by the agent,” Mr Walsh said. 

“It should have taken a couple of days to sign a lease, but with the distance between us, combined with an initial mistake on the lease and then mail going missing, meant it took three attempts to have our lease finalised.”
