One of the country’s largest property networks has made a senior strategic internal promotion, appointing a new chief technology officer.

Ray White Group has appointed Matt Gay to the position of chief technology officer, following his “great contribution” over the past two years as head of digital.

Director Dan White said that Mr Gay has a significant role to play in the group’s digital growth strategy into the future.

"Matt will be responsible for bringing all software development into a single technology team that works together on both new product delivery and supporting and enhancing our traditional IT systems," the director said.

"His responsibility will include the development of data insights and products to enhance the performance of our members in the field."

Mr White also said that Mr Gay’s role extends beyond IT.

"Matt will lead some fantastic people and teams across a range of locations and specific skill sets.

“This includes a digital team, a software development team and a data insights capability [team].”

Mr White said that this was a very significant move for the group.

"We believe that it will enhance our ability to determine and then execute on our key technology priorities, regardless of whether they are digital or traditional or internal or external-facing.”
