McGrath Estate Agents has launched the latest tranche of Millers Point properties, after achieving a 100 per cent clearance rate in the Millers Point sales program to date.

It has sold 136 properties so far, with a total value of over $415 million.

Seven new properties will become available, [including] a rare Colonial Georgian home on a large 358sqm of land with parking. It is currently configured as two homes but can be returned to an original grand property or left as two.

The properties are being marketed by Lorraine Crawford, Peter Starr and Andrew Stewart of McGrath Edgecliff, with an auction date penciled in for early December.

McGrath agent Lorraine Crawford said this is a one-off opportunity.

“With such a wide variety of properties being offered, we will see a mix of buyers from investors to owner-occupiers,” she said.

“We are continuing to experience strong interest in the area and this is due to the sought after inner city location, with the development of Barangaroo also attracting people who are keen to secure a piece of what limited supply remains in Millers Point before the program is complete.”

Ms Crawford said there are only a small selection of terraces remaining to be sold in the precinct which is creating strong competition.

McGrath was appointed by Property NSW as the exclusive sales agency for the program in June 2016.

The appointment followed a select tender issued to pre-qualified agencies on the NSW government’s Real Estate Agents Panel.

Property NSW chief executive Brett Newman said at the time, it [the appointment of a single agency] is common market practice.

“A single agent delivers many benefits,” he said.

“Including savings in advertising and marketing costs through an improved scale of activities, greater consistency when dealing with interested parties and the flexibility to alter the mix and timing of properties subject to market appetite.”
