LJ Hooker has beefed up its recruitment capability ahead of its aggressive plans for the new year with the appointment of one of the country’s top business development specialists.

Jerome Smith has joined this month to support LJ Hooker’s growth strategy with a national remit.

Mr Smith also has an extensive background in business coaching.

LJ Hooker head of business development Ben Mitchell said that he is pleased to welcome Mr Smith to the network.

Mr Mitchell said that the new BDM joins at a time when LJ Hooker is particularly active in opening new offices across the breadth of its markets.

“The brand’s vision and franchise offering is resonating with business owners across Australia,” Mr Mitchell said.

“LJ Hooker introduced a dozen new offices to the network through the peak spring selling season and we have a strong pipeline as we move into the new year.

“Having Jerome join our team allows us to better service the interest in LJ Hooker, where we’re taking the brand and our network of business owners.”

Mr Mitchell said that Mr Smith’s skill combinations will be well utilised by the network.

“His background in business coaching and market knowledge also gives him a deep understanding of what makes a successful agency and the support needed for business owners from a franchisor level.”

Mr Mitchell also said that Mr Smith’s decision to contribute to LJ Hooker’s growth strategy was encouraging for the entire corporate team.

“When a recruitment specialist of Jerome’s calibre recognises the opportunity to be part of LJ Hooker’s 2020 growth strategy, it reinforces the value and depth of our offering.”

Mr Smith said that LJ Hooker is an iconic brand, one that is “future-proofing” its business owners in a shifting digital landscape.

The BDM said: “The chance to work with business owners to elevate their current and future operations with the LJ Hooker brand was simply too good to pass up.”

Mr Smith has joined LJ Hooker from Ray White, where he was network development manager and senior auctioneer.
