One boutique Victorian network has made a key recruitment to drive its strategic ambition to become a nationally recognised brand.

Biggin & Scott announced that it has employed former McGrath and Ray White agent Simon Thomas to spearhead its growth into the Queensland market.

Mr Thomas has almost 20 years of industry experience. As national franchise manager, he will be responsible for leveraging new connections.

With his background in sales, training, coaching and auctioneering across multiple brands including Ray White and McGrath, Mr Thomas said that his experience lends itself to understanding the challenges a new franchisee might experience.

“My experience has taught me a great deal about what’s required to grow a business into a new area, as well as what it’s like as a business owner to undertake a rebrand within a new franchise,” the agent said.

“I believe that understanding agent pain points on this process gives me a considerable advantage, as it means I’m very well equipped to support them throughout the transition.”

He said that Biggin & Scott has a lot to offer.

“As a franchisor, they offer a great brand, great history, great training, and the whole network has a really good synergy. CEO Paul Stoner and director Adam Flynn make for a great team — they live and breathe Biggin & Scott, and they’ve established really good momentum in Melbourne that we’re excited to continue in Queensland.”

Director Adam Flynn said that the network has seen “a great deal of success” in recent years and will be approaching the expansion with conservative targets in mind.

“We know that Biggin & Scott isn’t going to become the number one Queensland agency overnight, but we’ve already started to gain some traction in certain areas which is great to see so early on,” Mr Flynn said.

He added that he is “thrilled” to have Simon on board.

“There’s no question in our minds that he’s the right man for the job.

“It’s an exciting time in real estate and we’re incredibly excited to see Biggin & Scott go national.”
